Starstruck Uptown Girl

Born on April 10, 1985, Starstruck Uptown Girl aka Dancer, was a beautiful Miniature Horse mare. She measured 34" and was misregistered as a chestnut - she was actually silver dun. Her sire - William's Rusty was a red dun misregistered as a chestnut and her dam Tarnished Trinket was a beautiful silver dapple.  Her pedigree traced no further.

My mom and I purchased her in 1987 from her breeder. She spent several years with us, was sold, bought back and sadly in 2004 sold again. I do not know of her whereabouts now or if she is still living. If she is, today is her 30th birthday. She was the start of our Miniature Horse breeding program and produced some lovely foals for us. I know that she had foals other years but we did not own her then and I never kept track of them.

Gabby The Tabby

I didn't realize it's been 11 days since my last post. Wow - well I haven't done much but work and deal with the snow. So I thought I would share images of my kitty.

Gabby the Tabby was born roughly around August 7, 2000. She was dumped with her littermates at the vet office where my mom worked.

I adopted her from the vet and have had her ever since.

Here are some pictures from her early life - I don't have her kitten pictures scanned in.

Here are some of her and my dog Bria - who passed away in 2007.

In 2012, I learned that Gabby was blind. Her pupils are overly dilated giving her a look of extreme surprise. You can't see the pretty color anymore.

She will turn 15 this year - and I am grateful daily for this little fur ball.

Dreamcatchers

I don't recall at what age I learned to make them. I always loved them and over time have made so many in varying shapes.

I thought I would share some of them with you.

Let It Snow - I guess

Living in Colorado, I am used to the snow, but there are days it SNOWS. Today is one of those. At 6:30 AM I had 4 inches of snow (I live at 8000 feet in elevation - town is 7522). Town had about 2 inches. Tonight when I got home there was much more on the ground - I am guessing close to 6-8 inches - but its drifting so no accurate measure. It is still snowing at 9:50 PM and the wind is blowing now.

But for those that like snow pictures - I thought I would share a few with you.

Have a happy February - looks like mine is going to be snowy!!
