It's been a few years since this show has been held. I was so happy in May when it was posted that it would be happening November 2, 2024. I am hoping for nice weather to get there and back home!
Got my entry on August 25! So excited!! I am only showing halter and one Anything goes performance entry. I am just not ready yet as it's been a while since I have shown performance, and I haven't had time to get models done or set ups done while dealing with my mom's passing and the repercussions from that.
I did manage to secure a 2nd table because I was bringing more than I thought I was going too! hahaha ๐
Drove down on Friday night, November 1st, and I loved my hotel room -Double Tree Hilton in Aurora.
This has to have been one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in for a show that was not a lot a night and nice!
And then it was show day!!!
The hall was HUGE!! I literally walked 25,000 steps when I am usually a 5-10,000 step a day person - I was so sore, but had fun. I didn't get a picture of the hall, but it was crazy big!
I showed in Original Finish Breyer and Peter Stone divisions, but stopped when I realized that my stablemates (1:32 scale) were not going to cut it against the bigs that much. I concentrated on Custom and Artist Resin, and my 1 performance entry. And Amateur Artist division.

Then came the one thing I had been waiting for - the one Performance Class that I was entering - ANYTHING GOES.
Any one that knows me, knows I am a HUGE Star Wars Fan and fan of the Mandalorian and Bo-Katan (I have even met Katee Sackhoff).
This was my entry and it got SECOND PLACE out of Six entries.
|
GIFT FOR THE MAND'ALOR - A War Horse and a Battle Dog! |
I think I might have started crying! This set is HUGE (1/6th scale) and had their own special bags and boxes!
I also won a door prize, and raffle items, and bought stablemates that I wanted, AND I got a model scale HARRIS/WALZ Flag which makes me so happy.
|
bracelets, stickers, ducks, Harris/Walz flag, models and the box has all the candy in it. |
All the awards were candy so I have a bag to take to work because it wasn't gluten free, but it was a nice day - thank you Heather Malone and All judges!
I only got 1 picture of another person's horse because I was actually walking past and I love this model - China Indy - so beautiful.
|
Independence "Indy" Custom Glaze China |
And I got no people pictures because I am good like that. Anyway, I hope to be able to go to the show the next time it is held.
